About Hawksbill Turtle Hatching Season
Hawksbill hatchlings emerge on Barbados beaches from mid-July to mid-October, almost always between 6pm and 6am. There is no ticket and no schedule: a nest hatches when it hatches, and the way to see one is to be on a nesting beach after dark and to leave the hatchlings alone. If you find a nest emerging, or a hatchling heading the wrong way towards lights, call the Barbados Sea Turtle Project hotline on (246) 230-0142. They run 24 hours through the season and would rather hear from you than not.
